What has mankind done for anyone except for a few wealthy bastards? We have more salves for our misery than in the past, but most of us live lives that never truly feel like our own, and in the meantime, we’re destroying the planet and decimating other animals at an alarming rate. Confidence radiates. Confidence comes from a lack of want. When you know who you are, what you value, what you want out of life, the type of people you want to associate with, etc., you can get all of that across in a tactful way.

So write what you want to write. Make sure it’s true, get out of your own way, don’t worry about judgement and keep writing about the same thing. Every time you write about the same thing you dig a little deeper, you do some more inner work, you get a little bit more gold for your efforts.

It is writing because you love to write, whether you make money or not. It’s about sharing yourself with others, being vulnerable, and showing the world your story. Or it’s about being entertaining and telling a story. It’s about giving respect to the profession and, hopefully, getting some respect in return.
